Back to the Days of Kosciuszko

Back to the Days' first event was held in 1990 at Lucerne Park in Warsaw. Mr. Dave Taylor, commander of the Virginia Navy reenactor group was the coordinator of the event. It was a reenactment based mostly on the military with the supporting cast of civilian reenactors. The military groups were associated with the North-West Territory Alliance. The Kosciusko County Council on Aging was the sponsor of the event.

In 2000, the Council on Ageing decided not to sponsor the event and a group of interested people took on the task of coordinating the event.
We incorporated Back to the Days of Kosciuszko as a "not for profit" corporation with the State of Indiana in July, 2000. We continued to hold the event at Lucerne Park until we out grew the Park and in 2003 moved to the County Fair Grounds. With the move to the Fair Grounds, School Day was established on the Friday prior to the weekend encampment.

School Day has been very successful with a starting attendance of 250 fourth graders to a high of 1300 students.
Funding for our event is from various grants and donations from local businesses and individuals.
